Vans

Vans was founded as a rubber company in Anaheim, CA that would make one-off shoes for local skaters. As a company, they were born custom and wanted a product customizer that reflected that legacy. With the goal of standing out as a beacon of creativity, Vans Customs allows users to not only pick from a set of seasonal or promotional colors and patterns but to also upload their own artwork, use powerful design tools to create new artwork or leverage artist or pop-culture resources. Store-specific patterns, in-store customization, promotions, and artist collaborations serve to deepen the Vans local legacy. I led product design, creative, and in-store innovation for this account over the course of two years.
